The Apartment Hotel
In the heart of the ancient Emporio Segestano, known today as Castellammare del Golfo, a famous town with ancient fishing traditions, the Residence Le Pleiadi is a renovated historical building, located in the very central via Nunzio Nasi, dating back to the late 1800’s that retains all its charm and architectural aspects of the original design.

The apartment hotel has 8 mini apartments, studio, 2 roomed and 3 roomed apartments. They are situated on the ground, first and second floors with wooden roof beams. They can accommodate 2 to 6 people and are suitable for disabled people.

The name “Pleiadi” derives from the Greek word “pleios” which means multitude, abundance or from “pluin” which means sailing, because when the star of the Plejadi shines after winter, it is the beginning of spring. In the millennium A.C. the Plejadi appearing in the Spring skies indicated the beginning of the season for sailing and tuna fishing (mattanza), an antique practice in these parts. When they were no longer in view in the Autumn night skies, it was time to leave the boats in the port.

The Rooms

All the apartments are furnished in an elegant and refined manner with classic furniture. They are light with private balconies and are equipped with all the comforts and necessary equipment to ensure an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

There is an elevator in the building.

The apartments are named after stars called the Sette Sorelle or Sette Vergini, that form the constellation of the Pleiadi. The Greek tradition identifies them as the children of Atlantide and Pleione, who, after five years on the run from the hunter Orione in the forests of Boetia, were taken to the skies and transformed into the stars of Zeus. For each of the sisters a name was given and passed down during the centuries: Alcione, Asterope, Celene, Electra, Maya, Merope and Taygeta.

Our structure is about 200 meters from the port, 150 meters from the sea and 800 meters from the Castellammare beach.
