We invite you to stay in what once was Baron Celauro's residence which, since 1700, has played host to many illustrious people, from GOETHE, who was the Baron's guest during the famous journey he undertook in Italy, to emperor FRANCESCO GIUSEPPE, who during a visit to Agrigento attended a feast in is honour here.

You will find a fascinating environment, full of history, in which you will discover the orange scented blossoms of our garden and an oasis of peace in the heart of a town rich in art and tradition where time seems to have stopped. Villa GOETHE, in the historical centre of Agrigento, is the ideal starting point from which to visit the historical testimonies and fine monuments of your town.

While exploring the enchanting lanes and winding streets of ancient KERKENT you will discover a little known cornersand backdrops of history.

You will be able to enjoy traditional sweets and cakes made by the numerous confectioners which surround our residence and the taste excellent menus prepareted according to tradition by the local chefs.

We shall be pleased to offer you our help in identifying the most interesting archaeological routers and indicating places of pristine nature.

ROOMS
A noble residence, with well-defined, luxuriously decorated spaces.
The rooms are furnished with period pieces, with floors in walnut parquet and a host of fine details.
Furthermore, one of the bathrooms is completely lined with white Carrara marble, the sanitary fixtures in fine china and the floormade up of tiny, multicoloured tiles in a mosaic effect.

The vegetation present in our garden is typically Sicilian. There are oranges, lemons, pomegranates, jasmine and sunny, summer days.

Villa GOETHE is situaded at via Celauro 7, at the heart of the old historical centre of Agrigento, with its principal facade looking out on via Atenea, one of the main streets of the town, which Pirandello described as being " long and narrow, similar to an alleyway..."
